My Birthday Tea Party!!!

How cute is this. My girl friends Lilly and Jill planned a Tea Party for me for my (early) birthday. I think its a really cute and inexpensive idea (depending on where you go) for a birthday party with your girls. We even had a theme for the party which was Vintage, pearls and lace, Classic tea party attire.. It was so much fun. All of the girls wore little hats and pearls and we dressed up in cute little dresses.
We decided to have ours at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, but you can google any hotel and see if they have a "High Tea" or Afternoon Tea there. Or search on Yelp as shown below.

We all met at 2:30pm and left at about 5pm. After about 30 min they brought out strawberries and whip cream. Some of us ordered champagne as well. Then shortly after they brought out everyones tea. On the tea menu each person can select a tea which comes with an entire tray of bite size treats. To save money we only ordered 3 FULL teas that comes with the tray of treats.  Everyone else just ordered individual tea instead of all of us getting the fully monte and not finishing it. So for 7 girls we had 3 trays of treats- it was the perfect amount.
I included the menu from the Peninsula tea so you can see what Im talking about. We ordered 3 of the Imperial teas.

I ordered the Jasmin tea with honey; it was so yummy!
We decided that for each girls birthday, which happens to be 1 every month for the next few months, we would come back and do a Tea Party but with a different theme. Just a cute idea and experience I wanted to share with you because it was so fun and fab but really inexpensive once everyone chipped in and split the bill.
I hope you enjoy my pictures and it gives you great ideas for your own parties <3 My birthday btw is on the 17th of Feb :) Happy 27th birthday to me <3

Beautiful flowers in an antique tea pot from my lovely friend Sarah

Im clearly not used to this move LOL

Our treats. See how much comes per each Full Tea you order. Thats why we only ordered 3

Thanks again for checking out my blog. Happy Tea Party <3

A quick Home Remedy Submission

Hi ladies and Gents.
I wanted to do a quick update with 2 submissions from readers that came in of Home Remedies.

A face scrub from Jenna-

"I just wanted to tell you the best homemade face mask I found a few months ago and have been using at least once a month on my face. All you do is mix olive oil, honey, and sugar in a container and apply it to your face and lips. I do this in the shower and leave it on for about 5 minutes. I have very dry skin, especially in the winter, and this works wonders! The olive oil moisturizers your skin while the sugar exfoliates. I just thought i'd tell you about this face mask because I thought you'd like to try it :) "

Xo Jenna <3

Here is a face mask from Margarita

"Jennifer,
I was so excited to read your blog on the milk powder face mask.  I'm can't wait to try that one.  I love reading your blogs, you give women some really great ideas and thank you for being so down to earth and sharing your tips and secrets, and sharing your fashion inspirations.  Anyways, I wanted to share a mask I make at home that I love, and maybe you could try it too.  I have combination skin, but in the winter it gets a little more drier, and I have large pores too.  I make an egg white and honey mask, which refines your pores and makes your skin feel great and look illuminous.  The honey goes in because egg whites can be a little drying, so the honey adds a little moisture.

Here's the recipe, enjoy! "

Crack 1 egg and separate the egg white into a bowl
1 tablespoon of honey
Whisk the ingredients together until well mixed, and apply the mixture to your cleansed face.  You can leave the mask on for about a half hour.  Then wash off with warm water, and moisturize.

I hope you try it and love it as much as I do.  You'll instantly notice how FAB your face will look and feel.  And if you're like me ( i have big pores)  it totally shrinks them.

Much love,
Margarita

Quick Eye Mask from Chloe

"Great post everyone. Can't wait to try! My facialist christine chin taiught me a very awesome and effective eye mask. Crack an egg open dump the out contents and keep the shell. Take the shell and on the inside of it there should be a layer you can peel out still there. It looks clearish almost skinlike. Peel it out and upply fine layers under your eyes for about 15 minutes. Gently clean off!! Xxxooxo"

Thank you so much Jenna, Chloe and Margarita for sharing your Home Remedies with us. I cannot wait to try them and give feedback <3

One more face mask I just found...

Papaya facial mask

Ingredients
- 1/2 ripe papaya, peeled, seeded
- 1 egg white
- 1 teaspoon honey
Implementation
Chop 1/2 cup of unripe papaya. Put the papaya in the blender container or blender.
If you have sensitive skin, utilize a ripe papaya. Add one teaspoon. plain yogurt and one teaspoon. warm, natural honey.
Use full-fat yogurt if you have dry skin. Blend prior to the mixture is smooth. Wash your face and neck.
Smooth the papaya mask onto clean skin, then let it remain for 8 to 10 minutes.
Rinse the mask out of your face with cool water, then pat your skin layer dry.
Apply a moisturizer befitting your skin.

Home Remedy- Powdered Milk Face Mask

Last night after going through my vanity drawers I found an entire collection of Powdered Milk!!! I have been wanting to take a bath in Milk for a long time but never got around to doing it- or remembering anyway. So I decided to try it on my face instead. Cleopatra was famous for her beautiful skin. Her secret was that she soaked in baths of fresh milk. "Modern laboratories now know why milk worked such wonders for her skin: the lactic acid in milk is an alpha hydroxy acid, a natural material that dissolves the glue that holds dead skin cells together. Milk can cleanse the skin down to its deepest layers." I didn't know all this before actually apply the milk to my skin, but this definitely explains why my skin felt and looked so amazing after taking it off. You can get powdered milk anywhere and it is so cheap and so far everyone on the internet raves about its effects.

Heres what I did:

I took about a 1/3 cup of powdered milk and put it in a container. Then I slowly added warm/hot water little by little while stirring with my finger. I wanted to do a mask so I needed it to be more of a paste rather than liquid. My powdered milk was kind of chunky so while stirring I would try to smooth out the chunks to become a smooth paste.. It worked... but not really. And thats ok.

I applied the paste to freshly cleansed dry skin. I even put it over my lips- I mean it is edible ;)
Once I covered my face completely, I did a second layer with what was left. I then took a paper plate and fanned my face to help it dry. I let it sit for about 10-15 minutes and then grabbed a wash cloth and started to take it off with warm water. The feeling was really creepy- The top layered dried but underneath was still a bit moist so it felt like a second skin was cracking ( the milk layer ) but I couldn't feel it. I think you'll see what I mean. Its was funky feeling.
After getting all of the milk off of my face ( it took some time washing ) I noticed my pores were minuscule! My skin was glowing and sooooooo smooth! I didn't feel dried out but I did apply moisturizer right away. Waking up this morning my skin feels amazing. Any bumps I had or dry skin is gone!!

After Loving this so much I decided to look up more ways to use powdered milk. I found out that you can also use it as a cleanser as well!!! And in your mask you can mix in Honey, Yogurt, Granola...  I searched for some ones that sound amazing to try and listed them below.  Try this tonight and let me know what you think!! And if you have any Home remedies yourself please submit to JenniferStano@gmail.com. I would LOVE to feature you and your home remedy on my blog!!!!!

Have Fun Ladies and Gents xoxoxoox

PS. I just noticed on my package of Milk that it says Instant Dry Milk. I tried looking up the difference and from what I can find dry Milk has more fat ( mine says nonfat?)  in it and powdered milk is more watery ?! Anyone with info on this please share. Either way it worked amazing. Deff try it!

HOW TO WASH YOUR FACE WITH MILK

Step 1

Pour ½-cup oatmeal and ½-cup of powdered milk into a small bowl. Add just enough warm water to the powdered milk and oatmeal to form a thin paste.
Step 2
Splash your face with warm water. Massage the milk cleanser into your skin using your fingertips.

Step 3

Allow the milk cleanser to sit on your skin for two to three minutes. Rinse the milk from your face with a cool water rinse to help close your pores.

Step 4

Pat your skin dry with a clean, soft towel. Repeat the process at least once a week.
